In recognition of 50 years of dedicated service to the Commonwealth, Her Majesty the Queen asked that her Golden Jubilee Year, 2002, be celebrated with a theme of Thanksgiving.   DogSpeak prepared a program to offer acknowledgement of the significant contributions of Canada’s service dogs and their skilled trainers and handlers, many of whom are volunteers, to the  protection and enhancement of the  lives of  Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

It was our great pleasure to bring together 19 working and service dogs from 10 organizations for this opportunity to meet  Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh during the provincial celebration of the Golden Jubilee Visit to Toronto.

I personally wish to thank you on behalf of the CCRA for the invitation to participate in this very special event.  Without your hard work, dedication and persistence this definately would not have happened.  I was most impressed with your vision and the comments from staff here were tremendous.  I also would like to say that the entire display was extremely well received by all the politicians we met, the media and the public who stopped to talk. Keep up the good work you have started.   We will be forever grateful to have had this opportunity to showcase our K9 service to Canadians and her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
